The wood has been distressed to give the appearance of aged oak and finished with a light lacquer. It also comes fully assembled when delivered to your door. Absolutely love everything that has arrived - I ordered it as it looked the same as the Canterbury range (all out of stock in Range Warehouse) and was similarly priced but on arrival I think it is much better quality and the finish is really good. Delivery men were brilliant as our farmhouse is rather quirky with stairs/narrow corridors etc. Definitely 10 out of 10.
